I going to share something embarrassing...

How are you doing? Are you ok? Or are you slowly dying inside from the amount of work you have to do without having a venue that works for you?

At our venue Andalusian Oaks we book 8-14 weddings every month which is around $80-$100k worth of bookings. It wasn't always this way though.

At my lowest point and with a mountain of debt I wanted to sell our property and get out. My mom sold everything she had and moved out with us. I felt stuck and constantly worried. I never had that much responsibility on my shoulders before. When I realized that no one was going to buy our failing venue I felt even more stuck!

I reached out to venue coaches that told me what to do but literally nothing worked and I couldn't figure out why! I tested pricing, I tested the wording on the tour, we did events, email campaigns, social media posts, FB ads, Tiktok, planner referrals and a ton more. I even bought perfume from Italy for the couples and made bread for them on the tour (I'm embarrassed to admit that).

NOTHING WORKED!

This kept me up at night for months I couldn't figure out why my venue wasn't making money and why brides weren't booking. Was is my property? Was it the distance? Was it because we don't have overnight stays? One person told me that men could never sell to brides!

I was so confused...

Until...I realized what the core issue was...

Post Covid, brides were having to pay for their own weddings. The old way of selling brides wasn't working anymore. You might have also noticed that something weird is happening in the industry.

Once I realized this everything changed for us! I started marketing as if the bride herself was paying for her own wedding. I changed my website, my pricing page, and my entire pitch changed.

All of a sudden we went from 18% booking rates to around 80% booking rates. Brides started booking on the day of the tour and we started filling up our calendar. We used to book 1-3 weddings per month if we were lucky, now, we book $80k-$100k worth of weddings every month. Best of all, this new method took WAY less time and effort. I didn't have to communicate to brides before the tour.

So, what changed?

I used to be a digital marketer and sold people on products without ever meeting them in person. I generated multiple millions doing this but when I got into the wedding market I thought the sales process was different. I wasted so much time doing what used to work instead of what I knew in my gut on how to sell brides.

One thought that I kept having on the tour was "why do brides leave without booking?" Never in all my years of sales was it a good idea to let someone leave without purchasing something.

As soon as I changed to the new method things just started working. I was able to pay for employees, go on vacation for the first time in FOREVER, and have my venue running pretty much on autopilot.

I was no more a high payed janitor and self created venue slave. I was free. I know the intense struggle that venue owners go through and that is why I'm giving away what has worked for us and many other venues we teach.
